When "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" celebrated its premiere in 1920, the rush to see it was so great that for weeks many were denied admission. The artistic silent movie by director Robert Wiene became a highlight of German Expressionist Cinema with its unreal and dreamlike style. 100 years later, "Cesare’s Dream – In the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" offers a special interpretation of this extraordinary film with the help of the innovative technique of volumetric video.
On behalf of the Goethe-Institut Warsaw and in association with ZDF/ARTE, We Are Era created a virtual dream experience: holograms and digital environments make it possible to enter this homage amidst the actors and backdrops and experience a classic of silent cinema in a completely new way.
