The new management team presented United Screens’ new business and growth plan for RTL Group during mid-summer, which was quickly implemented and had a substantial impact on the financial results for 2020.
"We are happy that with great team effort we managed to increase our turnover by 19 per cent in 2020. We have put all our focus on growth and will continue to do so onwards, with the financial results showing that we are on the right track. Already early on in the coronavirus pandemic, we shifted focus to provide the market with advertising products that were more suitable for the situation", says Natalie Tideström Heidmark, CEO of United Screens and continues:
"Together with clients and influencers, we are creating the future of entertainment and advertising. Having advertisers that keep coming back to us truly marks the effect that can be achieved with our campaigns. We are incredibly thankful for the trust from our clients, influencers and agencies that we are working with, alongside our shareholder RTL Group supporting us with an entrepreneurial and creative mindset."
U Screens AB with its subsidiary U Screens Music AB increased the turnover during 2020 by 19 per cent to 170 million SEK (2019: 143 million SEK). The profit for 2020 was 1.3 million SEK, a clear improvement from 2019, when the result for the two companies amounted to approximately -44 million SEK.
"While we have had a strong focus on growth, we have also reduced our costs and invested a lot in streamlining the organization. The pandemic has brought an extremely special year and in times like these it has been very important to find new ways, and we have been more agile than ever. All this in combination with having a strict financial control have been some of our key success factors for 2020", says Nicolin Lillhage, Deputy CEO of United Screens.
United Screens will continue to focus on growth and gaining market shares. During 2020 United Screens has, among other efforts, developed a new global offering to advertisers. Together with Divimove, United Screens has established Europe’s largest digital studio and talent network. The two companies have also created a common ad server on YouTube as well as a global offer for Influencer Marketing campaigns. This has resulted in an extensive offer for pan-European clients. In July 2019 RTL Group announced the combined entity of Divimove and United Screens where Natalie Tideström Heidmark and Nicolin Lillhage are a part of the international management team.
